Dr Ian P.M. Lambert - Message from the Principal

Published on: Tuesday 15th January 2019

On behalf of The Scots College, I extend a warm welcome to new and continuing Snowsports families and friends.

Snowsports is a challenging and exciting life sport and we are pleased to be able to offer athletes improvement and performance pathways across the year levels and across Disciplines. One of the things we cherish in The Scots College is teamwork, and we know this spirit is alive and well when the Blue and Gold team hits the slopes!

The Prep School and Senior School Snowsports Teams have enjoyed wonderful success, and team camaraderie in recent years. They are both the current Australian Male Snowsports Champion Teams at their levels. This success has been sustained over many years, with the Senior Team holding the title of Australian Champions for the last 11 years and the Prep Team holding the title 11 times in the last 12 years.

The Snowsports program is wonderfully led by a dedicated and professional team of coaches and administration staff. While there is always a focus on fun and family, we also take it seriously when it comes to representing the College, State and Country. We have every confidence that our team can support and equip your son for a wonderful experience in Snowsports.

As current National Male Champions at Prep and Senior School levels, we will be striving in 2019 to defend our title and introduce new boys and families into the sport. We are confident that our Programs will support boys to the highest levels in this country and internationally. We are proud of the team of staff who support this Program and the work of The Scots College Snowsports community.

There will be many serious and fun events this year, and I am sure the tiniest Scots boys will be thrilled when the Rampant Lion skis down the slopes, and when the bagpipes are playing on the snow. Snowsports is a wonderful experience for families and the senior boys love mentoring and encouraging the junior boys as they strive to represent their friends, families and College.

This Handbook provides a comprehensive overview of the year ahead, and serves to connect you with the committee members and staff who lead the program. I trust you enjoy a wonderful season, and that the snow will fall generously in 2019. I look forward to joining you all on the snow and at our official Functions.

Scots to the Fore!
